The Board of Directors and Production Team are happy to once again offer our dancers the opportunity to design our production t-shirt for "The Nutcracker". We are always impressed with the additional talents of our dancers outside of their dance abilities, and look forward to seeing what they can create. The rules and guidelines for the contest are listed below. Please let us know if you have any questions.
The deadline to submit your entry is Sunday, September 27th at 6:00 pm.
1) You may use clipart or images from the internet, but changes may be required if it is later determined those images are not available for use, or if they must be purchased and the cost is determined to be prohibitive. . If a design is submitted with clipart or other images that require a licensing fee, ORCBA reserves the right to make necessary changes. **We want to see what YOU can create, not ChatGPT. AI generated images are not eligible.**
2) The color of the shirt is still to be determined. Due to printing costs - designs may only include 2 colors. (Black and White count as colors.) ORCBA reserves the right to make any changes necessary to facilitate printing. It is also acceptable to just submit a sketch, and the Production Team will add colors if yours is the winning design.
3) The total artwork must fit in a 9" wide x 10" high area. You do not have to use the entire area. It will be printed on the front of the shirt as one single imprint (no sleeve, hem, collar, etc.).
4) The artwork should contain "ORCBA presents", "The Nutcracker", and "November 2026", or leave room for those elements to be added.
5) All submitted artwork becomes the property of ORCBA, even if it is not selected to be on this year's cast and crew shirt.
6) You are only designing the front of the shirt; the back of the shirt will contain sponsor logos and a list of the cast and crew.
7) This contest is open to any current cast member.
8) All submissions must be sent as a JPG file to [email protected]. In the event your artwork is chosen as a finalist and you have prepared more print-ready files (i.e, EPS, PDF) we will ask you to submit those after the contest.
9) Qualifying designs will be selected by the Production Team. Designs will be posted and online voting will take place within the Cast Member section of the ORCBA website for voting.
10) Voting for the winning design will take place in the Cast Member section of the website Wednesday, September 30th - Sunday October 4th. Voting is open to all current cast members - one vote per cast member.
11) The contest winner will receive 2 additional t-shirts of any size with their design.
12) Please note: the intent of this contest is to see what our dancers can create with their own talents - not to have parents or adults design an entry for them. Parent assistance is acceptable, especially with younger dancers, but adults should not be completing the entire design and entering on behalf of a dancer.
